Suppliers of Specialist Joinery Products
Managing Director Mr. John Burke established Burke Joinery Ltd. in 1985. The initial objective of the company was to establish itself as a specialist Joiner, manufacturing Fire Doors and providing a broad based architectural Joinery service. With a staff of five people, the new company had an exceptional start to operations. Within a very short time we had built up an impressive portfolio of work. High profile work included the Rotunda Hospital, CERT on Amiens Street Dublin, and the St. Stephens Green Shopping Centre, where we built the entire Gothic arch shop fronts.
During the ‘90’s we continued to grow and we began to export to the UK. We expanded our service package as demand began to increase in different areas. In addition to the standard Joinery service such as Doors,
Frames, and Timber Mouldings we have also developed a high reputation for manufacturing a range of quality office and reception furniture. We have recently completed work on Vodafone Head Offices along with the South Dublin Civic Offices, which included over 1,000 Oak & Ash veneered Door sets. We have also provided Joinery for the St. James Hospital project, which included approximately 700 Formica faced Doors, aswell as refurbishing the Bank of Ireland in O’Connell Street, Dublin with new Cash and Customer Service Counters.
Today, we have a staff of 27 people with an extensive factory based in Kylemore Park South, Dublin 10 that includes a 20,000 sq ft workshop and finishing area, with over € 2 million worth of high – tech machinery which is serviced by offices and meeting rooms to match. In addition to having a comprehensive Safety Statement, we employ a Health and Safety Officer who oversees all safety regulations in the factory in addition to organising health and safety courses. We at Burke Joinery Ltd. are fully unionised through BATU and are members of the C.I.F. and ISME, in addition we provide training and development for our apprentices through FAS.
While at the Irish Joinery Awards 2003, in association with the Irish Timber Trade Association (ITTA), we received the Highly Commended Award in the Public Building Category for our work on the Usher Library at Trinity College Dublin.
As of the future, it is our intention at Burke Joinery Ltd. to grow and expand and continue to monitor the market and to move with it to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients.
