Main Contractor - BAM
On this project Burke Joinery supplied and fitted 600m2 of American ¼ cut oak acoustic panelling to the new library extension @ Glucksman Library, University of Limerick. We were also tasked with installing a further 750m2 of fire rated oak wall panelling, a reception desk and tea station.
We had to work to a very strict acoustic brief with the overall end use of the space in mind. Our design input helped achieve an A class acoustic absorption rating. Another requirement was that we had to match the grain of veneer throughout the run of panelling while also keeping the colours consistent throughout the development.
Prior to manufacture samples and mock ups were developed and tested in an acoustic chamber to ensure that we would achieve the desired standard.
